The Yellowknife Farmer鈥檚 Market welcomed its 11th year of operation at Somba K鈥檈 Park on Tuesday
Pouring rain in the morning and afternoon threatened to throw things off, but fortunately it stopped and gave just enough sunshine for the first day of the event.
Included in the vendors this year are a couple of new stalls, including a Filipino resturant named Republic.
Dave Speakman, a wood item crafter who owns Another Turn, a boreal wood crafts shop, started at the market three years ago.
He said that the wood, such as birch and pine, used to craft the products has been locally harvested.
鈥淚 bring them back to town and craft them to bowls, vases and cutting boards,鈥� said Speakman.
He also said the market is in a great location with such beautiful scenery and great music always playing.
