RCMP intercept suspected drug shipment in Fort Good Hope

Fort Good Hope RCMP have seized about 261 grams of suspected crack-cocaine following a tip police received on April 20 about a woman flying into the community with contraband alcohol.

鈥淥fficers made contact with the woman at the Fort Good Hope Airport and developed further grounds to believe she was in possession of illegal drugs,鈥 RCMP state, adding the suspect was arrested and searched.

Marie Erutse, 33, of Fort Good Hope, has been charged with trafficking a controlled substance. Police did not find any contraband alcohol.

Erutse is scheduled appear in court on June 2 in Fort Good Hope. RCMP say the investigation is ongoing. 

鈥淔ort Good Hope detachment would like to thank the community and local government for their partnership and support in combating the illicit drug trade in the community,鈥 the police stated.
